1. Written Examination

The written examination is divided into two papers:

Paper-I: General Studies

  • Total Questions: 200
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Maximum Marks: 300
  • Syllabus:
    • General Studies: History, Geography, Indian Polity, Economy, Science, Current Affairs, and other relevant topics.
    • General Aptitude & Mental Ability: Logical reasoning, analytical ability, data interpretation, and basic mathematics.

Paper-II:

This paper is divided into two sections:

  1. Section A: General English
    • Total Questions: 100
    • Duration: 3 hours (shared with Section B)
    • Maximum Marks: 150 (shared with Section B)
    • Syllabus: Grammar, comprehension, précis writing, and other standard English language components.
  2. Section B: Tourism-Related Subjects
    • Total Questions: 100
    • Duration: 3 hours (shared with Section A)
    • Maximum Marks: 150 (shared with Section A)
    • Syllabus:
      • Basics of Tourism and Travel
      • Tourism Marketing and Management
      • Cultural Heritage of India and Tamil Nadu
      • International Tourism
      • Hospitality Management
      • Tourism Policy and Planning

Total Marks for Written Examination: 300 + 300 = 600 Marks

2. Oral Test (Interview)

  • Maximum Marks: 70

The interview assesses the candidate’s personality, communication skills, and subject knowledge, particularly in the tourism field.

3. Final Selection

  • The final selection is based on the total marks obtained in the written examination and the oral test (interview).
  • Total Marks: 600 (Written Exam) + 70 (Oral Test) = 670 Marks
