TNPSC Assistant Librarian Exam Pattern

The TNPSC Assistant Librarian Exam pattern typically consists of two main stages:

1. Written Examination:

  • Paper I: Subject Paper (Library and Information Science)
    • Duration: 3 hours
    • Marks: 300
    • Objective-type questions related to Library and Information Science.
  • Paper II: General Studies
    • Duration: 2 hours
    • Marks: 200
    • Consists of questions from General Studies (Degree Standard) and Aptitude & Mental Ability (SSLC Standard).

2. Interview:

  • After the written examination, candidates are called for an interview.
  • Marks: 70

Total Marks:

  • Written Examination: 500 marks
  • Interview: 70 marks
  • Grand Total: 570 marks

Minimum Qualifying Marks:

  • For SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCMs: 171 marks
  • For Others: 228 marks

This exam pattern helps ensure that candidates have both subject knowledge and general awareness, which are essential for the role of Assistant Librarian.
