The TNPSC Assistant Librarian Exam pattern typically consists of two main stages:
1. Written Examination:
- Paper I: Subject Paper (Library and Information Science)
- Duration: 3 hours
- Marks: 300
- Objective-type questions related to Library and Information Science.
- Paper II: General Studies
- Duration: 2 hours
- Marks: 200
- Consists of questions from General Studies (Degree Standard) and Aptitude & Mental Ability (SSLC Standard).
2. Interview:
- After the written examination, candidates are called for an interview.
- Marks: 70

- Written Examination: 500 marks

Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- For SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCMs: 171 marks
