RRB JE Exam Syllabus

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is responsible for conducting the Junior Engineer (JE) exam every year to recruit eligible candidates for various posts in the Indian Railways. The RRB JE exam syllabus is vast and covers multiple topics related to engineering and general awareness. The paper is divided into two sections: Section A and Section B. Section A consists of four subjects, namely Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science. Section B, on the other hand, focuses on the subject-specific questions for different engineering branches such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Civil.

Mathematics: This section is designed to test the candidates’ aptitude and knowledge of various mathematical concepts. The topics covered in the Mathematics section include Number System, Basic Algebra, Ratio and Proportion, Geometry, Mensuration, and Trigonometry.

General Intelligence and Reasoning: This section evaluates the candidates’ logical reasoning and analytical skills. The topics covered in this section include Classification, Coding-Decoding, Analogy, Puzzle, and Seating Arrangement.

General Awareness: This section tests the candidates’ knowledge of current affairs and general awareness. The topics covered in this section include History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Current Affairs, and Sports.

General Science: This section tests the candidates’ knowledge of basic science concepts. The topics covered in this section include Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Section B of the RRB JE exam focuses on the technical aspect of engineering for various branches. The topics covered in this section depend on the candidates’ engineering branch, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Civil.

Mechanical Engineering: This section focuses on the concepts of Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Manufacturing Technology, IC Engines, and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

Electrical Engineering: This section focuses on Electrical Circuits, Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, Control Systems, and Electrical and Electronic Measurements.

Electronics Engineering: This section focuses on Electronic Devices, Circuit Theory, Analog and Digital Circuits, and Communication Systems.

Civil Engineering: This section focuses on the concepts of Building Materials, Estimating, Costing and Valuation, Soil Mechanics, Surveying, and Hydraulics.
