IAS Exam Languages

The Civil Services Examination (CSE) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in India allows candidates to choose one of the 22 scheduled languages or English as the medium for writing the examination. The list of scheduled languages includes:
- Assamese
- Bengali
- Bodo
- Dogri
- Gujarati
- Hindi
- Kannada
- Kashmiri
- Konkani
- Maithili
- Malayalam
- Manipuri
- Marathi
- Nepali
- Odia
- Punjabi
- Sanskrit
- Santali
- Sindhi
- Tamil
- Telugu
- Urdu
Candidates can choose any one of these languages as their medium for writing the various stages of the examination, including the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and the Interview. English is also an option, and candidates can write the examination in English if they prefer.
