The eligibility criteria for the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) Civil Services Examination in India include educational qualification and age limit. However, please note that eligibility criteria can change, so it’s essential to check the official UPSC website or contact the UPSC for the most up-to-date information.
As of my last update, the educational qualification for the IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IPS (Indian Police Service), and IFS (Indian Foreign Service) is as follows:
- A candidate must hold a degree from any of the recognized universities or possess an equivalent qualification.
For the Indian Forest Service (IFS), the educational qualification is slightly different:
- A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects – Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, and Zoology, or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry, or in Engineering from a recognized university.
Regarding the percentage requirement, there is no specific minimum percentage required to appear for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. As long as a candidate has completed their graduation from a recognized university, they are eligible to apply. The selection process is based on the performance in the written examination and the interview (Personality Test).
