UPSC CAPF Exam Pattern

The UPSC CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) exam pattern typically consists of two papers:

  1. Paper I: Written Examination
  2. Paper II: Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Medical Standards Test, and Interview/Personality Test

Here’s a detailed breakdown of the exam pattern:

  1. Paper I: Written Examination
    • Duration: 2 hours
    • Total Marks: 250
    • Type: Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
    • Subjects:
      • General Ability and Intelligence
      • General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension
    • Paper I is used for shortlisting candidates for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Standards Test.
  2. Paper II: Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Medical Standards Test, and Interview/Personality Test
    • Candidates who qualify in Paper I are called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Standards Test.
    • Candidates who clear the PET and Medical Standards Test are eligible for the Interview/Personality Test.
    • The Interview/Personality Test carries 150 marks.

Candidates need to clear both Paper I and the subsequent stages (PET, Medical Standards Test, and Interview/Personality Test) to be considered for final selection.

It’s important for candidates to meet the physical standards prescribed by the UPSC for the CAPF examination, as well as prepare thoroughly for the written examination and interview/personality test.
