TNUSRB Fireman Recruitment Process

The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) conducts the recruitment process for the position of Fireman in the Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services. The recruitment process generally involves several stages, including:

  1. Notification: TNUSRB releases an official notification announcing the vacancies for the position of Fireman. The notification includes important details such as eligibility criteria, educational qualifications, age limit, selection process, and important dates.
  2. Application: Interested candidates are required to submit their applications through the online portal provided by TNUSRB within the specified time frame. Applicants need to fill out the application form accurately and provide necessary documents and information as per the guidelines.
  3. Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria undergo a Physical Measurement Test to ensure they meet the required physical standards such as height, chest measurements, etc.
  4. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who qualify in the PMT then undergo a Physical Efficiency Test, which includes tasks such as running, long jump, high jump, etc. The standards for the PET are predefined by TNUSRB and vary based on gender and category.
  5. Written Examination: Candidates who clear the PET are eligible to appear for a written examination. The written test assesses the candidates’ knowledge in subjects such as General Knowledge, Aptitude, English, and Tamil. The exam pattern, syllabus, and marking scheme are provided in the official notification.
  6. Certificate Verification: After the written examination, candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks are called for certificate verification. During this stage, candidates need to present their original documents for verification, including educational certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), identity proof, etc.
  7. Final Selection: The final selection of candidates is based on their performance in all the stages of the recruitment process. A merit list is prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained by candidates in the written examination and other stages. Candidates who are shortlisted in the merit list are offered the position of Fireman in Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services.
