The Selection of the candidates for the TNPSC Combined Civil Service Examination CCSE Group 2 & 2A Category vacancies are based on a two-tier written examination followed by an Oral Test wherever applicable.

- Main Written Examination
- Oral Test.
The Exam pattern and Syllabus of the TNPSC Group 2 & 2A Recruitment has been revised as shown below.
The TNPSC Group 2 & 2A Exam 2022 will have all the three for the Group 2 Exam and Prelims & Mains only for the TNPSC Group 2A Exam.

Note:
- Answer sheets of the candidates who do not secure minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I will not be considered for the evaluation of Paper-II.

- Marks secured in Paper-II alone will be considered for selection.
For Interview Posts:
- Main Written Examination: 300 Marks Oral Test: 40 Marks
- Total Marks: 300+40 = 340 Marks
- Minimum Qualifying Marks for all Communities: 102 out of 340
For Non-Interview Posts:
- Main Written Examination: 300 Marks
- Total Marks: 300 Marks
- Minimum Qualifying Marks for all Communities:90 out of 300
TNPSC Group 2 & 2A: Final Selection Process
The Prelims Examination is served as a screening test only. The candidates who are declared to be qualified in Preliminary Examination are allowed to appear in the Main Written Examination.
The number of candidates who are admitted for the Main Written Examination will be 10 times compared to the number of candidates who are about to be recruited with regards to the rule of reservation of appointments. So, rigorous preparation is required for the candidates to opt for the best TNPSC Group 2 coaching center in Chennai.
However, in each reservation group, the candidates who have secured the same marks as that of cut off marks of their reservation groups can be admitted to the Main Written Examination, though the count of candidates to be admitted to the Main Written Examination might exceed in the ratio of 1:10.
