TNPSC Group 2 Exam and Selection Process Explained

The TNPSC Group II exam selection process involves 3 stages like

Prelims Exam
Mains Exam
Interview/Personality Test

First and foremost candidates have to pass the prelims exam only then the candidate can appear for the TNPSC Main examinations.

In recruiting for Tamilnadu state government jobs proficiency in the Tamil language is compulsory for TNPSC exams. TNPSC prelims consist of a General Tamil paper for 100 marks and the Mains exams even consist of Tamil proficiency tests such as translating English to Tamil and Tamil to English.

After clearing the prelims candidates will be moved to the second stage which was the main exams. Those who successfully cleared the main exams will be called for a personal interview. The final result and selection process is based on the combined scores of the tests and interview scores.

General Tamil (S.S.L.C. Standard syllabus): 100
Questions
General studies (Degree standard syllabus: 75 Questions)
Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (Based on the level of S.S.L.C. Standard syllabus):25 Questions

Totally: 300 Marks

TNPSC Group 2 Mains Exam Syllabus and Pattern

Paper 1: Maximum Marks: 100 Qualifying Mark: 40 Duration: 3 Hours

Paper 2 General Studies: (Degree standard syllabus Descriptive Type Questions): Maximum Marks: 300 Duration: 3 Hours Qualifying marks: 102

Interview Scores: 40 Marks
