RPF Exam Syllabus

The RPF (Railway Protection Force) exam is one of the most competitive exams in India, and it is conducted by the Indian Railways for the recruitment of constables and sub-inspectors in the RPF. Aspirants who are planning to appear for the RPF exam should be well-prepared and have a clear understanding of the exam syllabus. In this article, we will provide a detailed syllabus analysis to help candidates get prepared for the RPF exam.

The RPF exam is conducted in two stages – a computer-based test (CBT) and a physical efficiency test (PET). The CBT is further divided into three sections – General Awareness, Arithmetic, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Each section carries 50 questions and each question carries one mark. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes and there is a negative marking of 1/3 for each wrong answer.

  1. General Awareness: This section covers various topics related to current affairs, history, geography, economics, politics, and general science. Aspirants should be updated with the latest news and events happening around the world. The topics covered in this section include:

– Indian history and culture
– Indian geography and economy
– Science and technology
– Sports and awards
– Politics and national events
– International events and organizations

  1. Arithmetic: This section covers topics related to arithmetic calculations such as simplification, percentage, ratio and proportion, profit and loss, time and work, time and distance, problems on ages, numerical ability, and data interpretation. Aspirants should have a good understanding of the basic mathematical concepts to score well in this section.
  2. General Intelligence and Reasoning: This section covers various topics related to analytical and logical reasoning. Aspirants should have a good understanding of various reasoning concepts such as analogy, coding-decoding, series, classification, blood relation, direction sense, and order and ranking. This section requires a lot of practice to score well.

Once the candidates clear the CBT, they will be called for the PET which includes physical measurements such as height, weight, chest, and a race such as 1600 meters for male candidates and 800 meters for female candidates. Aspirants should be physically fit and must practice regularly to perform well in the PET.
