CSAT Syllabus:
- Comprehension Skills:
- Comprehension passages and questions based on the passages.
- Interpersonal Skills including Communication Skills:
- Communication skills, effective communication, and understanding the basics of language.
- Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability:
- Number series, coding-decoding, syllogism, analogies, Venn diagrams, blood relations, direction sense, data interpretation, etc.
- Decision Making and Problem Solving:
- Decision-making and problem-solving questions to assess the candidate’s ability to analyze situations and make sound judgments.
- General Mental Ability:
- Basic numerical and quantitative skills, like high school mathematics (up to Class X level).
- Basic Numeracy (Class X level):
- Numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.
- Data Interpretation (Class X level):
- Charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency questions.
- English Language Comprehension Skills (Class X level):
- Understanding and analyzing passages, English grammar, antonyms, synonyms, etc.
It’s important to note that the CSAT is a qualifying paper with a minimum qualifying mark fixed at 33%. The marks obtained in the CSAT are not counted for the overall ranking, but it is necessary to score the minimum qualifying marks to have the Paper-1 (General Studies) evaluated.
