Notes:

  1. Candidate who has already appeared in the examination, those candidates have to furnish the eligibility document for the last qualifying examination which will help them to appear for the UPSC   Preliminary Examination. The candidate who is declared qualified by the Commission for taking the Civil Services (Main) Examination will have to give proof of passing the requisite examination alongwith the application for applying the Main Examination, if any candidate fails to produce the requisite examination with their application are not eligible to give Main Examination.The application for the Main exam may come up mostly in the month of August/September.
  2. In exceptional cases the Union Public Service Commission may treat a candidate who has not any of the foregoing qualifications as a qualified candidate provided that he/she has passed the examination hosted by the other Institutions, commenced by the opinion of the Commission justifies his/her admission to the examination.
  3. Candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications which Government recognizes as equivalent to professional and technical degrees would also be eligible for admission to the examination.
  4. The candidate has to submit the application with a copy of the certificate from the concerned authority of the University/ Institution if the candidate has not completed their internship by the time of submission of their applications for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, especially this rule is for Candidates who have passed the final professional M.B.B.S. or any other Medical Examination. In that case, the medical candidate has to furnish an original Degree or a certificate along with an internship for the award degree. from the concerned competent authority of the University/Institution at the time of their interview.

1.   A candidate must be a citizen of India who applying for the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service.

2.   A candidate must be either for appearing the exam:

1.  A citizen of India, or

2.  A subject of Nepal, or
