CCSE Group 1 (Combined Civil Services Examination – Group 1) conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) and the CCSE Group 1 syllabus:
The CCSE Group 1 examination usually consists of three stages:
- Preliminary Examination:
- General Studies (Degree Standard): This may include topics such as History and Culture of India, Geography, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, General Science, Current Events, and Aptitude & Mental Ability Tests.
- Main Written Examination:
- Paper-I: Modern History of India and Indian Culture
- Paper-II: General Aptitude and Mental Ability Test
- Paper-III: Administration of Union and States with special reference to Tamil Nadu
- Paper-IV: Socio-Economic Issues in Tamil Nadu/India
- Paper-V: General Science
- Paper-VI: Current events of national and international importance
- Interview and Record: The qualified candidates from the Main Written Examination will be called for an interview, and their records will also be taken into account.
- Interview and Record:
- An oral test in the form of an interview is conducted for candidates who have qualified in the Main Written Examination.
- The interview assesses the candidate’s suitability for a career in public service.
